About Steady Current Press

Steady Current Press was founded in 2026 out of a simple conviction — that honest, humble stories have the power to encourage growth, deepen faith, and help people move forward with purpose in their everyday lives.

The name comes from a personal place. In the Order of the Arrow, the service honor society of Scouting, members who demonstrate exceptional and selfless service are recognized with a Vigil Honor — and given a name chosen by others who have witnessed their journey. My Vigil name is Steady Current. It wasn't a name I chose for myself; it was given by people who saw something in how I served before I had language for it myself. That's the spirit this press is built on — quiet, consistent movement that carries others forward without seeking recognition.

The logo carries its own story. The red tipi represents Tipisa Lodge, and the Great White Heron standing on its face represents O-Shot-Caw Lodge — the two Order of the Arrow lodges I've been part of across my years in Scouting in South Florida. Together they represent the communities that shaped me and the friendships that made this work possible. To those who know, the mark says something before a word is read.

The seed for this press was planted one Sunday morning when a sermon stirred something unexpected — not just the outline for a book, but the vision for something larger. A place where stories like mine, and stories like yours, could find a home and reach the people who needed them.

We publish personal narratives of faithful service, reflections on spiritual formation, leadership rooted in humility and character, and stories that move readers toward purposeful living. We believe meaningful change rarely arrives in dramatic moments. It grows through steady obedience, quiet courage, and daily intention.

If you have a story that reflects these values — one that's honest, humble, and worth sharing — we'd love to hear from you.
