What We're Looking For

We evaluate every submission against a simple standard — does this story honestly reflect growth, faith, and intentional living in a way that will encourage and move readers forward? Writing quality matters, but alignment with the press mission matters more. We are a small press with a clear vision and we publish selectively to protect it.

We publish personal narratives of faithful service, reflections on spiritual formation, leadership rooted in humility and character, and stories that move readers toward purposeful living. We believe meaningful change rarely arrives in dramatic moments. It grows through steady obedience, quiet courage, and daily intention.

How It Works

Steady Current Press is an independent imprint built on shared vision, not profit. Here is what publishing with us looks like:

• There is no submission fee.
• There is no charge to publish beyond the cost of ISBN registration — approximately $30 per ISBN — which covers your title's entry into the publishing catalog under the Steady Current Press imprint.
• You retain all rights to your work.
• You retain all royalties from every platform.
• The press provides the imprint, registers your ISBN through Bowker, and guides you through the publishing process from manuscript to distribution.
• You will set up and manage your own accounts with IngramSpark and KDP with our assistance every step of the way.

What you receive is the imprint, the identity, the knowledge of someone who has already walked the path, and a community of like-minded authors building something worth building.

Editorial Standard

We review every submission personally. Our standard is alignment with the press mission — honest, humble stories that move readers toward purposeful living. A story that doesn't reflect the values of the Steady Current Press imprint won't move forward regardless of writing quality. A story that does — even if it needs some work — will always get a fair read. We are not just looking for manuscripts. We are looking for authors who want to be part of something.

We are a small press and we read every submission personally. Please allow 90 days for a response. We appreciate your patience and we will not leave you without an answer.
